Thought we should have this conversation out here where others might benefit.

I have had some serious welding and modifications done to my Gearmore rear blade in order to get it to work properly on my tractor.

Maybe I can give you a heads up.... which model are you contemplating?

Mark..I ordered the Rankin RBT50 rear blade. I'm very curious as to what kind of problems you had getting your Gearmore to work. Seems simple enough..but I'm certainly no expert.

But, if there's a problem, then it's a dealer problem. They can take it back and find a solution.

Mark, also I read your post about the inconvenience of offsetting the gearmore blade. Could quick-release pins replace the bolts? ....

I just sold the same model you are buying and bought an RBM-60.

I had to totally re-work the hitch on the new one. It was incompatible with the hydraulic top link and too wide for the lift arms.

You should be able to make the RBT work on your 2210 even though the pin spacing is more like a Cat 2. Your sway chains pull your lift arms inward.... my chains pull the lift arms outward. If you run out of adjustment you can reverse the pins (point them inward) on the RBT. The RBM does not allow this.

Offset.... as designed, you must disassemble the blade from its mounts to offset it. I am sure that with your welding skills you can design a sliding channel into the system similar to the Mid-West blade we both admired. ....

Thanks for the heads up, Mark. The Ted's EZ hitch I put on allows for a little more spacing and lift height. Maybe I won't run into problems but being able to reverse the pins sounds good. I'll report on things when it comes in. ....

I have a related question for you. I need to get a rear blade & will use it alot for cleaning out old roadside ditches & just about re-digging some of them, along w some regular grading. That means alot of offset work. I think I should get at least a 7 foot blade for more offset & am considering an 8' blade. Is there any disadvantage w getting the longer blades? I also looked at a 6' Midwest blade & liked they're offset system. I have a Branson 3510 that is just under 6' wide. Thanks ....
